Dennis DeYoung Poster

Dennis DeYoung

August 16, 2018

One of the founding members of the 70s rock band Styx, Dennis DeYoung is a songwriter of extraordinary diversity, whether it be heartfelt ballads (Babe), synth-pop (Mr. Roboto) or epic theatrical prog-rock (The Best of Times). While he has enjoyed a very successful solo career (including the Top 10 hit Desert Moon), for this tour he'll be concentrating only on Styx material, his brand new backing band helping to recreate some of the finest moments that 70s progressive rock had to offer.

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper is hitting the road on a North American trek with his new tour "A Paranormal Evening with Alice Cooper". The tour will be in support of his latest album "Paranormal" which was released last July, his first album in six-year making it his 27th all-together. The record features special guests including U2s Larry Mullen Jr. who plays on nine of the twelve tracks as well as a highly anticipated mini-reunion of the original Alice Cooper band members! Upon release, 'Paranormal' quickly made its way up the iTunes rock charts landing itself at #1 in twelve countries and top 5 in twenty countries.

The legendary rockers Cheap Trick never seem to be off the road, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see them lined up for a series of North American shows this year. The band have now been together for some 40 years, during which they've more or less defined the 'pop rock' genre. Tracks like Surrender and I Want You to Want Me showcase their enviable skill at marrying earworm, bouncy melodies with hard rock riffage.

Up until 2014, Future Islands were an acclaimed, but lesser known synth-pop band from Baltimore, but that all changed with their appearance on David Letterman's Late Show. Not only was lead singer Samuel Herring's dancing the stuff that memes' dreams are made of, but the song they played, 'Seasons (Waiting on You)', was obviously something special. Later named by Pitchfork as the best track of the year, 'Seasons' proved to be the band's breakthrough, and they now stand as one of the indie world's most respected groups.

Grammy award nominated hard rock juggernaut Mastodon came together in the late 90s in Atlanta, and have firmly established themselves as one of modern metal's finest, and one more than happy to throw their prog, jazz and glam influences into the mix. This year sees them hitting the road with one of the most influential rock bads to come out of the 80s, Dinosaur Jr.
